The Ammerman Center has a history of working with the local community to provide professional development to the techers. It has received several grants over the years to provide progressive, professional development for local art, music and media teachers. More recently these grants have focused on engaging middle and high school students in creative activities such as film making using common technologies. These grants support the Center's community outreach activities, the colloquia series, the biennial symposium on arts and technology as well as visiting artists, lecturers and researchers. This funding has also been instrumental in supplying equipment for local schools. Grants have been received from AT&T, Citizens Bank and the Chester Kitchings Foundation.
